In memoriam Brother Andrew de Carpentier
Brother Andrew was director of the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf in Salt, Jordan for over 40 years. Under his inspiring leadership, it grew from a small school for deaf children to a leading institute where hundreds of deaf and dozens of deaf-blind children received a good education from kindergarten to graduation and/or vocational training and found a loving home in the boarding school. In this way he made the institute a knowledge center for deaf education in the whole Middle East.
Even after his retirement he continued to dedicate himself to people with disabilities in the Middle East. His legacy at the Institute will be continued under the loving guidance of Father Luay R. Haddad.
We express our deepest sympathy to all his relatives,
Friends of the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf and the Deafblind
